Say what you see: Say Now’s Upcoming EP Release

Pre-releasing singles “Hot & talking” on October 16 and “Met my match” on September 18, British girl group Say Now prepares for their newest venture next month: their debut EP release post-moniker.

From needanamebro to Say Now: Matches Made in Heaven

Formed under Atlantic Records in 2022, Ysabelle “Yssy” Angeli, Amelia Onuorah and Madeleine “Maddie” Haynes debuted in 2023 with single “Better Love”, operating with a moniker as they released content on social media to find their future fan base, sharing personal endeavors and tidbits of the daily responsibilities as a girl group who also shared strong connection as best friends. Behind the girl group’s current identity as a trio is a humble origin story, beginning in 2022.

Cited in their 2024 Glamour Magazine interview, Yssy and Amelia shared a similar initiation along their road to Say Now’s formation, scouted via social media by their manager as they were in college or shortly finishing up. Spending their time together exploring their potential sound direction, strengthening their bond and sisterhood, eventually they both raised a proposal: casting one more member to form a trio. Recruiting Maddie in the same manner through her social media DMs, the girls met up in person sharing ice cream, hitting it off right away and marking their beginnings on their newfound path as the next upcoming British girl group.

Paying homage to Spice Girls as one of their biggest inspirations in NOTION’s 2024 interview, Say Now’s mission since is connecting and uplifting young girls and women through their own sisterhood, serving as an example of how life has its own compass, paving their own path through their own navigation systems. The girls also honor their fond memories of closeness, seeing eye to eye with ease despite meeting each other for the first time during their formative days, recognizing right away that the stars were aligned for their group. With shared dreams and diverse backgrounds, each member brings their own flavors and experiences to the table, settling on Say Now as their official name, outlining a simple philosophy all three members possess in the Apple Music description of their debut EP Needanamebro:

“Say what you want to say and don’t hold things back.”

Let’s Play Catch Up Before Say what you see

Before their debut EP release on November 13, 2026, let’s take the time to return to their classics, reminding ourselves of where they came from, what we currently have, and what is to come for this next chapter of Say Now’s careers.

Hot & talking, Keep On Walking

Released on October 16, 2026, Say Now’s sophomore single pre-release following “Met my match” introduces us into their latest era, featuring soft mauve and pink florals. Produced by Count Baldor (PinkPantheress, BABYMONSTER, f5ve) and Oscar Scheller (PinkPantheress, Kelela, Natanya), written by the Say Now girls alongside Scheller, Katie Taylor and fellow British singer-songwriter and producer PinkPantheress, “Hot & talking” highlights the realities of being a conventionally attractive woman in the eyes of others, overlooking friendliness for romantic interest and fueling their fantasies. A song of push and pull with a deep desire to take it slow without skipping essential steps towards building a social dynamic with another person, one that isn’t just about the outcome, but the process when getting to know someone.

At The Supermarket, About To Flip

Released on October 10, 2025, produced by John Hill (Rayvn Lenae, Carly Rae Jepson, Khalid) and accompanying singer-songwriter RAYE and songwriter johan lenox (Metro Boomin, Shawn Mendes, 88rising), “Supermarket” takes us on a grocery store run, list in hand and on the verge of an emotional breakdown from a stressful romance. Wrestling with insecurity, knowing that the relationship has been rocky, he distances himself despite all the love shared with his name written all over it. Feeling like a piece of meat, putting all the liquor in the shopping basket, and still having no clue which conditioner to get next, Say Now’s “Supermarket” serves as a cry for help, the ultimate crash out song from the signs of a waning love.

He Wasn’t Born With It, He Was Built Brick By Brick

Released on June 5, 2025, “Brick By Brick” was produced by Gil Lewis and Maestro The Baker, written by the Say Now members, Mae Muller, Sara Boe, and Gil Lewis, serving as proof for building up their exes during their relationships, taking credit for bettering them as people as they get romantically involved with the next lover in line. Without wanting to return to the chapter of their love life that’s now closed, Say Now relays the message to their ex’s current lover, being on their side knowing that he was a work-in-progress during their own romantic involvement, hoping that he’ll continue to be better by design.
